2023 Fee Policy:

+ Fee Regulations

  • All students must enrol via the BFDS Parent Portal. This gives each family access to their studio financial account & confirms legal agreement to our policies.
  • No annual registration fees in 2024.
  • You have one week from the date of the first scheduled class, after enrolment, to request in writing a full refund or a transfer to a different class. After this time there are no tuition fee refunds permitted. Squad student policy supercedes all recreational policies.
  • Term fee payments are due by the start of term or before the dancer starts their first class, if enrolled after week one (excluding trial classes).
  • Payment plans must be arranged if full payment cannot be made by the invoice due date.
  • The rate per term is a flat fee for the entire term. Some classes may have more lessons than others depending on the term/day. This has been taken into consideration in the overall fees charged. Pro-rata applied to late joiners only.
  • Tuition does not include the dancewear, shoes, recital tickets, private lessons, solo rehearsals or special events/workshops.
  • Classes missed due to illness, holidays or other commitments are non-refundable and non-transferable. Once you have enrolled in a class for the term, fees on this class are payable for the entire term.
  • There is no charge for any costume hire for all recreational performance classes at the End-of-year Showcase/s.
  • Teachers may change depending on availability. There are no refunds for classes chosen on the basis of a specific teacher instructing.
  • Classes may be cancelled or combined if enrolment quota is not met. In this circumstance, students will be given alternative options or offered a refund for remaining classes.
  • One off class cancellations are sometimes necessary. If class cancellation occurs and re-scheduled classes are not available, a refund will be offered for the cancelled class.
  • If overpayment is made it will be put as a credit onto your account.
  • The use of Active and Creative Kids vouchers will be as per the NSW Government terms and conditions.
  • If a student account is in credit, a $10 administration fee is charged to transfer this credit to a nominated bank account upon request. Otherwise, the credit will remain on the account until used. Account credits not used after 2 calendar years will be forfeited.
  • Should a class or the entire studio have to isolate/close face-to-face operations, replacement classes will be provided online. No refunds will be provided to those who cannot join the online classes. A variety of options will be made available.

+FEE CAP DISCOUNT

  • The Fee cap is $450/term/student for Dance Kingdom classes, $1200/term/student for our main studio classes (excluding Privates, ‘Solo rehearsals’, Rubies, Emeralds, Extension Hip Hop Crew & High Kix). The Term Fee cap discounts may have to be updated manually by our administration. Please let us know if they are not appearing automatically on your invoice.
  • Students who regularly miss classes may need to be removed from some class performances. Full payment will still be required in this instance.

+Enrolment

Enrolment continues from time of enrolment for the full calendar year. You do not need to re-enrol each term. If you wish to cancel or change your enrolment you must do so in writing via email to: info@bomfunk.com.au. Students who do not return to classes in a subsequent term and have not advised the school in writing prior to the end of the previous term will be required to pay the full term fees. Students enrolling in classes for Term 4 only will not be included in the End-of-year showcase performances. Students must attend a full semester of classes to be able to perform in the End-of-year Showcase. Eg: attend the same class in Term 3 and 4 to be eligible to perform in the EOY Showcase.

Students joining other classes mid semester will need approval from the Director to be allowed to perform which may incur additional fees.

+PRIVATE LESSONS

Cancellation of private lessons MUST give 24 hours’ notice. All cancelled classes giving less notice will be charged the cost of the lesson. The class can be made up at the Director's discretion only. If Private lessons are cancelled by the teacher/studio at any time, a full refund for the lesson or a makeup class will be offered. ‘Solo Rehearsals’ are charged as a regular class and no refunds are given for absences.

+PAYMENT PLANS

Payment Plans are subject to approval from our office. This initiative is to simplify the payment process for parents and make it more affordable across the entire year. We are currently partnered with Ezidebit. Ezidebit is a firm dedicated to the collection and management of customer payments. To request an Ezidebit Payment Plan, please complete the online Direct Debit Request Form (can be found on our website www.bomfunk.com.au/fees). Please email info@bomfunk.com.au for assistance or to request a hard copy.

Payment plans or extensions due to special circumstances must be organised and approved by the Director in writing before fees are due in any term. Payment Plans cannot be paid via cash.

+COSTUME FEES

There are no additional costume fees charged for all classes performing in our End-of-year Showcases. Students may be requested to supply simple clothing and underwear basic items such as black leggings or black track pants to ensure a comfortable fit.

A reminder email will be sent with a deadline to inform BFDS of non-participation in Showcase. We request that if your child is not performing in the End-of-year Showcase please let us know via email so that we do not organise a costume for them.

  • If hired costumes are not returned by the requested date or have things missing, a damage/missing fee will be invoiced for the cost of costume replacement.
  • Students with unpaid accounts who are not on an approved payment plan will not receive their costumes until payment is made. This may mean they have to miss out on performing.

+ Additional charges

  • Fees paid via credit card (Tap and Go) will incur a 1.6% surcharge.
  • Fee payments over the phone incur a 2.2% surcharge.
  • Any unpaid balance of your invoice by the due date will incur a $25 late fee. Students with outstanding fees may have their enrolment suspended until full payment is received or other arrangements have been made at the discretion of the Director.
  • An additional $25 administration fee will be charged to accounts outstanding at the end of each term and the student’s placement may be cancelled.
  • An administration fee of $40/term is added to any accounts that request a private payment plan instead of using the Ezidebit payment system.
  • We reserve the right to commence legal proceedings for invoices with outstanding amounts at the end of each term and the account holder may be responsible for any associated legal fees or collection costs.
  • Some Showcases may charge an additional Production Fee to performers depending on the location and size of the show. These performances are optional and dancers will be informed of any Production costs before confirmation of participation is required.

The running of the school to the highest standard depends on the financial support of ALL students and parents. Overhead costs continue regardless of attendees and therefore we thank you for understanding and following our fee deadlines.

For all enquiries regarding fees, invoices and payment plans please email info@bomfunk.com.au

If there are any discrepancies between the above Fee Policy information and Bom Funk’s Studio Policy document, the Studio Policy document shall supersede the above information.
