Bom Funk has a number of specialty programs, many of which are exclusively offered to our students only:
Dance Kingdom® Early Education program
Our Dance Kingdom® Early Education program offers classes to children 18months - 6yrs in numerous styles and is designed to assist your child’s development, co-ordination and creativity. These classes prepare students for progression into our Primary Academy once they start attending school.
A.T.O.D syllabus & optional exams
Our Jazz, Tap & Ballet classes follow the A.T.O.D syllabus and students have the option to sit an exam as a participant or exam candidate. Our other recreational classes learn foundations in their styles and work towards individual and class goals and/or studio performances while focusing on fun and fitness.
Bom Funk Performance Squad
Our Performance Squad allows dedicated students further opportunities to represent at local dance competitions and community events - this include inter-state and overseas travel. Squad admission is via audition only. Please contact us to register your interest or attend our annual auditions.
DanceStep Student Teacher Education Program
We are a DanceStep Affiliate Partner studio - offering this educational program to students interested in teaching and/or leadership within their dance community. Students are allocated a class and mentor teacher while completing workbook and learning activities to progress through the levels.
ACROBATIC DANCE ASSOCIATION & IASF (International All Star Federation) accreditation
Our Acro teachers are all qualified through the Acrobatic Dance Association syllabi and students progress through level cards once all skills are accomplished.
Our Cheer coaches are all accredited with IASF Cheer Coaching credentials offering safe cheer skill development in both a recreational and competitive setting.
5,6,7,8 DANCE!® In-School Dance Program
Our 5,6,7,8 Dance® In-School Dance program is Bom Funk’s exclusive dance program tailored especially for each school’s needs and aligned with the Australian curriculum.
Street 2 Stage® - Boys Dance & Mentoring Program
Boys are welcomed and encouraged at Bom Funk and we love the energy they bring to the studio. Our exclusive Street 2 Stage program is designed to provide connection, guidance & support for boys in Dance (and their families).
Positively Imperfect - Girls’ Health & wellbeing Program
Our female empowerment program for tween & teenage girls, Positively Imperfect is designed to build confidence and provide mental health and wellbeing support for our girls through expert workshops, activates and talks.
Overseas Tours
Bom Funk’s International team (Australian Dance Creative (formally JSquad Australian) travels overseas every 2-3 years, depending on the opportunities available. Bom Funk dancers have already travelled to USA, Hong Kong, Paris, London & Japan. We are currently arranging another Japan tour. PROJECT SKIP REGISTERED STUDIO
A Project Skip studio, supports confidence, connection, and wellbeing alongside dance training. And is proud to support the whole dancer, in and out of the studio.
Project Skip has 3 Elements:
Social Connection - Building belonging, communication, trust, and confidence.
Focus & Discipline - Supporting self-regulation, concentration, goal setting, and preparation.
Resilience - Helping students navigate pressure, challenges, emotions, and growth.
Active kids & Creative Kids Registered Provider
Claim your Active Kids and Creative Kids vouchers with us. As a registered provider for both these programs, you can redeem your voucher with us and let your child develop new skills. For more information regarding the Creative Kids or Active Kids programs, or if you don’t have a voucher, visit service.nsw.gov.au.

Nationally Accredited Courses
Bom Funk provides Nationally Accredited Certificate I, II & III in Dance, Certificate III in Assistant Dance Teaching and Certificate IV in Dance Teaching & Mangement (Partnership with Empowerdance, RTO 40397) to Bom Funk students. Study is a combination of online learning and practical in-class tuition. Students must be enrolled at Bom Funk.
Kix Arts Productions
Kix Arts Productions creates commercial dance and cabaret shows to suit any event or function. With themed costumes & performances, Kix Arts talent will deliver professional entertainment that will leave your guests wanting more. Artists are available for small intimate events through to large full-show extravaganzas. Kix Arts are renowned for producing polished events and performances.
High Kix Cabaret
With a dash of Paris, a splash of Las Vegas and a hint of New York, High Kix Cabaret is the hottest and most glamorous entertainment to ever hit Canberra! Performances combine traditional cabaret with a modern twist led by former Moulin Rouge dancer & International showgirl, Kym Degenhart and NYC performer (including Radio City Christmas Spectacular starring the Rockettes), Amy Orman. The kick line consists of glamorous ladies whose individual personalities will entertain and excite all audiences. Tap kix
Tap Kix serves Canberra & Queanbeyan as a specialist performance crew engaging audiences with their entertaining tap routines, strong rhythm & funky, ‘street feet’ beats. Tap Kix performances are aimed to entertain and excite audiences and always draw a crowd. Tap Kix love to play around with rhythm and beats and experiment with sound. Tap Kix enjoy the challenge of blending traditional tap with modern street tap and combining this with an artistic and entertaining twist. Hire us to perform at your next Festival or event - we can bring our tap boards almost anywhere so the stage is not an issue - we BYO!
WORKSHOPS, MENTORING & PUBLIC SPEAKING
Many with International experience, our experienced Bom Funk teachers can provide workshops for your school or workplace. A number of our programs include mentoring and life skill development.
